Thomas R. Carpenter, Principal Attorney

Thomas R. Carpenter (he/him) is the founder and managing attorney of Carpenter Law Group, P.C., representing clients in the arts, entertainment, media, and travel industries. With more than 30 years of experience, he has run the legal department of two major entertainment industry labor organizations and served on the leadership team that led the merger between the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“AFTRA”) and the Screen Actors Guild.

His career highlights include serving as the chief negotiator for the collective bargaining agreement covering television network news anchors and correspondents, participating in the International Federation of Actors’ delegation to the Beijing Treaty of the World Intellectual Property Organization, launching the International News Safety Organization in North America, and negotiating the historic 2016 Off-Broadway Agreement for Actors’ Equity Association, in which actors secured wage increases of up to 82%.

He was named Labor Counsel of the Year by the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel in 2012 and has previously served on the executive board of the International Federation of Journalists and the AFL-CIO Lawyer’s Coordinating Committee. He is a Professional Educator with The Travel Institute, participates in the International Forum for Travel and Tourism Advocates and is the co-founder of Huckleberry Travel, an award-winning travel business. 

Brandon P. Taylor, Associate Attorney

Brandon P. Taylor is an Associate of Carpenter Law Group. His practice focuses on arts, entertainment, media and travel law.

Brandon provides practical, solution-oriented advice to clients, keeping sight of long-term business goals. Having started his legal career as a legal extern for Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), Brandon continued his career in private practice as counsel for Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including PARADE, STEREOPHONIC, JUST FOR US, GUTENBERG!, AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, PATRIOTS, APPROPRIATE, THE PIANO LESSON, DANNY & THE DEEP BLUE SEA, JOB, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, ROMEO & JULIET, SWEPT AWAY, TEETH and GYPSY. among others. As a luxury travel advisor, he also has practical experience providing valuable insight into legal issues in the travel and tourism industries.

Brandon is a graduate of Hofstra University and Brooklyn Law School.
